Mum shares genius 'last-minute' Aldi bag hack to make daughter's Jubilee top

A creative mum has managed to get her daughter Jubilee-ready with a DIY top you won't need a royal income to emulate.

Like many parents up and down the country, the 36-year-old woman - who jokingly refers to herself as a 'last-minute mum' - had to get her young daughter prepared for her school's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

This of course involved getting her dressed in a suitably patriotic fashion, with some sort of nod to the Union Jack flag.

Showing great inventiveness, and with no time to spare, the busy mum-of-five cut out the Union Jack heart from an Aldi carrier bag, and carefully ironed this to a plain vest top.

This design will of course be instantly recognisable to Aldi shoppers, with tell-tale images of berries and tomatoes clearly visible inside the flag.

The unnamed mum, whose children are between the ages of two and 13, shared her nifty hack with her TikTok followers, with the result proving to be both very effective.

Sharing footage of herself carefully ironing to heart to the top - to the sound of 'God Save the Queen' of course - she wrote: "When you're a last-minute mum! Just get the Aldi carrier bags out."

Although she was initially 'praying' that her iron-on design would stay put all day, she needn't have feared, as it was thankfully still attached perfectly when pick-up time came around.

After sharing the top tip via her TikTok page, where she goes by the username @5xthechaos5xthelove, the crafty mum was soon inundated with praise.

One follower joked that they expected "to see this design in Aldi within three to five working days", while another said Aldi should now advertise a "free t-shirt transfer with every purchase."

A third person wrote: "I wish I had seen this yesterday, would have saved me from rushing around the shops at 11pm last night."
