Mum's 'traumatic' day at work after son finds 'horrific' adult toy in street in Stockport

A Stockport mum has joked about her ‘traumatic’ day at work — after her five-year-old son spotted an adult toy on the pavement. Bethany Keane was walking in Edgeley with her little boy, Zack, yesterday (April 14) when he made the alarming discovery.

When Zack asked his mum what the unusual object was, Bethany had to think quickly. In the end, she chose to follow the age-old adage of honesty is the best policy.

“We had just come back from Alexandra Park and I was walking the dog. It was on Old Chapel Street,” the 28-year-old explained.

“My son goes ‘what is it?’. I was very honest with him, but told him it is not for children.

“He wanted to take it home because red is his favourite colour. I said 'absolutely not'!”

The professional dog walker, who has lived in Edgeley for three years, added: “My son was on half-term, I was walking a dog for a client, so he had to come with me — otherwise I wouldn’t have had such a traumatic day at work.”

Like Bethany, partner Ben, 31, also saw the funny side in the discovery.

He added: “It is probably not the first time I have seen one on the street. We are very proud to live in Edgeley.”

A photo of the find drew attention on social media, with nearly 250 people reacting to it on Facebook.
