A mum has slammed judgemental strangers after she wore a crop top and leggings to do her weekly shop and felt herself "getting looks" from strangers because of her body.
Nicola Paterson, 35, wore a £16 matching top and trousers set from Shein to do her shopping at her local Asda, and thought nothing of it until she felt people in the supermarket staring at her.
The mum-of-one said she's "not the skinniest person" and had her "belly showing" which caused people to give her dirty looks - but insisted she will never let anyone else dictate what she can and can't wear.
Nicola, from Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, posted a video on her @nicola_patpat account on TikTok in which she explained her experience in the supermarket, and called on people to stop judging others for their bodies and clothing choices.
She said: "I was getting looks going around Asda because my belly was out and I'm not the skinniest of people in the world.
"But it's one of those things, I bet someone has probably looked at me and thought 'who does she think she is, wearing that?' or 'it's freezing, she's got her belly out' and all this.
"And even though there was a little bit of me that was thinking folk thought that, at the same time I was like, f**k off."
The mum went on to say she's hugely proud of her body because it has "produced a beautiful child", and she won't let anyone judge her for that.
She added: "My body has produced a child, an absolutely beautiful child. If I want to rock whatever I've got I gonna do it. So yeah, I've gone to Asda like this and I don't care."
Nicola admitted she was "feeling a bit down in the dumps" after her experience in the supermarket, and called on people to stop judging others for what they look like, because you never know what that person has been through.
"It just annoys me," she explained, "I was just thinking about when you're on a night out and folk will look at you and think that you're such a fatty and whatever, but it's like, you don't know if I've produced a baby, or if another person has produced a baby.
"It's got bugger all to do with anybody else how fat or thin someone is. It's your skin, love the skin you're in. That's why I'm an advocate for not wearing a lot of make-up and just for everybody to feel so good in their own skin without having to cover anything up.
"Just rock what you've got."
Commenters on Nicola's video were hugely supportive of the mum, with several saying she "absolutely rocked" her outfit and encouraging her not to let cruel strangers get to her.
One person wrote: "Ignore the haters. I wish I had the confidence you do. You look amazing. Keep doing you."
While another added: "I bet someone else looked at you tho and thought 'I wish I had the confidence to wear that!!' You look amazing babe."
And a third said: "You look amazing. I need to take your advice and just go for it."
