A mum has sent her heartfelt thanks to two women who rushed to help her daughter when she was left struggling to breathe. Donna Moore was visiting the park with her five-year-old daughter Gabriella when the youngster suddenly fell from the monkey bars.
She rapidly became unable to breathe. Donna said she went into 'full panic mode' but two kind strangers rushed over to help her.
One woman held Donna's daughter while the other phoned for an ambulance, the Manchester Evening News reports. Upon arrival at hospital, doctors said Gabriella had badly winded herself but she was assessed for potential damage to her spleen.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Donna, 34, said: “I went into serious panic mode as you can imagine when it’s your child. These two wonderful people helped me, one with my baby I had with me and the other ringing the ambulance for my daughter and keeping me calm.
“She just fell back off the monkey bars and couldn’t breathe; I massively panicked. She was taken to Burnley hospital.
“The monkey bars were 6ft high and her breathing wasn’t great, that’s why they wanted to take her to hospital. The hospital said she had badly winded herself but they wanted to check she hadn’t damaged her spleen.
“Simon and Omar were the most amazing ambulance drivers, they made my daughter totally comfortable, at ease and made her laugh.”
