Mum's horror as car torched outside Lanarkshire home while daughter slept metres away

A Lanarkshire mum is reeling after her car was torched outside her home, just metres away from her sleeping daughter.

Vicky Gaughan's vehicle was set alight outside her home in the Pather area of Wishaw in the early hours of Friday morning.

Shocked Vicky watched on in horror as her BMW 3 Series went up in flames after a neighbour alerted her to the attack.

Fire crews were called at 12.16am who battled the blaze until 1.29am. Meanwhile police were called at 12.20am and launched an investigation soon after.

She added: “A similar thing happened to my neighbour a few months ago but I never expected it to happen to me.

“I don’t know how these people sleep at night.
