Mum's hilarious beans on toast hack has people changing the way they make the dish

A mum's beans on toast hack has left people scratching their heads as she uses her kitchen scissors in an unusual way.

A TikTok has gone viral revealing a mum's beans on toast hack, as she cuts up the bread into bite sized squares instead of slicing in half or into quarters. Even more controversially, she uses scissors to cut the toast up instead of a knife.

The video ends with her cutting up a final piece of toast into quarters, still using the scissors. The video currently has 3.4 million views on the app.

The video shows the mum cutting up the toast, as she says: "this is what everyone does", while her pal filming corrects her, saying: "this is not what everyone does, what is happening here?", as she takes toast already cut lengthways into soldiers and snips down the side to make squares.

The mum explains: "I'm making beans on toast", but when asked why she's cutting the toast this way, she says: "because then you just need a fork don't ya?" before adding: "everyone does that I'm telling ya."

Her friend filming says: "I'm going to put a poll on, and I bet you any money there's more people who are going to say they don't cut toast with scissors than do. I'm going to messages now saying 'I cut my meat with scissors', that's fine, or pizza."

To end the video, she cuts up the final pieces of toast into triangle quarters, only cutting to the centre of the toast.

People in the comments are loving the hack, although they have confirmed it is unusual. One person said: "NO ONE DOES THIS" while another said: "the hints in the name .. "beans ON toast" not beans with toast (cut up)".

Others, however, agreed that cutting things up with scissors was easiest, with one person commenting: "I cut everything with scissors, it's well easier" and another commenting: "Don’t people have a kitchen scissors? I use it for everything"

Others planned to adopt her method, with one person commenting: "I cut toast into little squares for beans on toast. I do not use scissors, but I think this may be a game changer" and another said: "Never seen this before, but for beans on toast this is genius".
