Mum's genius dinner trick means children will eat veggies with no fuss

Sometimes, it may feel like getting your kids to eat veggies is an impossible task. No matter how you try, they still ask and ask for food that's fifty shades of brown. But one mum has shown other parents how to 'hide vegetables in their food' - and they'll never suspect a thing.

Katie Williams has explained that she struggles to get her kids to eat healthier foods, saying 'my kids only eat beige s***' on her @lifeofkatiewilliams account, until she had a brainwave and tried a new way to get her little ones to eat more of their five a day.

And, the bonus is that it still looks beige, so children will be way more likely to eat it.

Katie said: "Today we are making veggie-packed faux sausage rolls", before showing parents the steps they need to follow if they want to make them too."

She explained: "Start by roughly chopping up a zucchini, a sweet potato and an onion, then blitz that up so it's nice and fine so your children cannot detect a single veggie.

"Then you want to put in two tablespoons of minced garlic, two tablespoons of tomato paste, two tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce, 3/4 of a cup of breadcrumbs, a tin of lentils and two eggs."

She said it 'looks like meat' as she blitzes it all together.

Katie then had five to six puff pastry sheets on her kitchen counter, which she cut straight down the middle and put the mixture down the middle, and you can do two rolls per sheet.

It will be around 'three tablespoons per roll' and then you egg wash down the side to stick it all together. Then you cut your roll into four pieces, put them onto a lined baking tray and then put them in the freezer overnight - or they can be cooked from fresh too.

She then explained how to cook them from frozen: "Chuck them in the air fryer at 200 degrees for ten minutes at a time.

"They are absolutely delicious, our whole family love them, even my fussy as-all-hell three-year-old, who literally won't eat chicken nuggets."

Other parents praised the mum, with one writing: "I've never thought of this, legend! I too have beige food kids!"

Another said: "My kids won't even eat sausage rolls."

"Love these!", someone praised.
