Mum's genius Christmas wrapping hack for when paper is cut too small 'works every time'

There are few things more annoying while wrapping Christmas presents than cutting off a piece that is too small. No matter what you do, it feels like you can't squeeze that present into that bit of paper.

It's not just annoying, but it also means a lot of waste, which is bad for both the environment and your purse. So before you throw the wrapping away, listen up.

A mum has shared a genius tip for when you've cut off a piece of wrapping which is too small for the gift you're trying to wrap.

Mum-of-three Emily Norris is a British-Canadian content creator who often shares tips and tricks to her YouTube channel and TikTok account.

Uploading a video to her account @mrsemilynorris, Emily shared what she calls her "favourite Christmas hack".

In the video, she can be seen sitting by her Christmas tree trying to wrap a rectangle-shaped present, that is too small for the piece of paper she has cut. She tries to move it around, but it still won't fit.

Emily captioned the video: "If you don't have enough paper, turn the box diagonally!", and said it "works every time".

The mum turned the box on a diagonal angle, and then folded the sides in like you would normally – and there's more than enough wrapping paper.

The Christmas wrapping trick impressed people in the comments, with one person saying: "Good to know".

Another said: "Good idea because I'm not very good at wrapping gifts."

A third added: "Love this tip. It sure does work every time," and another commented: "Genius!".

Loving the Christmas wrapping hacks? Have you tried using the ironing board trick? 'Queen of Clean' Lynsey recommends setting up an ironing board so it's the right height for you to be wrapping gifts.

She explained: "Set up your ironing board so it is the right height for you to be comfortable then no stretching or back ache, grab your presents and wrap away."

Another hack we recently shared can stop your kids figuring out which Christmas gifts are theirs.

A savvy mum recently shared a video of beautifully wrapped presents under the tree, but instead of name tags, there were numbers on them.

The mum has a hidden list showing which numbers are for which kids, so when they go snooping they won't have an idea who's presents are for who.

Do you have an amazing hack that makes Christmas that bit easier? Let us know in the comments below.
