A mum is desperately appealing for help following the rapid decline in the health of her ‘tiny warrior’ daughter.
Little Esmé was born with a bicuspid aortic valve, which is fortunately functioning for now, but doctors don’t know how it will affect her in the future.
She has since gone through the process of checking to see if she is non-verbal autistic, but in recent weeks her health has rapidly deteriorated, with her suffering with bowel disease-like symptoms.

Now, her mum Elizabeth Bakos, of Didsbury, is desperately appealing for help and wishing to raise funds in a bid to help her daughter have a better quality of life.
“When we received the news during a 20 week scan that she had a heart disease it was difficult to come to terms with,” Elizabeth said.
“When she was born we also discovered that she had a hole in her heart which my tiny warrior managed to heal all on her own. She still has a bicuspid valve, and it is life limiting, it will shorten her length of life but it is functioning for now.”

In November, however, things took a turn as Esmé began suffering from inflammation in the intestine and other symptoms of bowel disease. Many checks were conducted, with a suggestion the two-year-old could have Crohn's Disease, but it has not been confirmed.
Now she is receiving treatment in the form of IV antibiotics, fluids and iron for anaemia. She is also being fed by way of a tube, her mum said.
“She’s eating less and has lost lots of weight. She’s getting weaker and weaker and weaker,” Elizabeth said.
“It’s been really hard. Her dad now has to leave his job to become a full time carer for our little girl. We don’t know what to do.”

In a GoFundMe, set up by Elizabeth, she said she is hoping to raise money to help her daughter have a better life.
“We have four children and live in a two bed house,” she wrote.
“We're hoping to raise money so that we'll be able to live for now and perhaps enough so that we can split the bedrooms in half to give Esmé her own space.
“She will be on immunosuppressants of some form for the majority of her life now which means that all of the bugs and viruses the bigger kids bring home will put her life at risk. She needs her own space to keep her safe.”
