Mum's birthday bash descends into 'Shameless episode' as all-out brawl erupts

A mum has compared her drunken 50th birthday bash to 'something from Shameless' after it descended into a hilarious all-out brawl - where every guest managed to take a tumble. Lisa Keegan had been enjoying her boozy celebrations until family friend Adam, 40, reportedly snatched an e-cigarette from one of the attending teenagers while mucking about.

When her daughter's boyfriend Tony stuck up for the lad, the situation became heated and Lisa tried to separate the enraged pair - but instead she landed herself at the centre of a scrap. Footage shows the two drunk men struggle to land a single punch until they fall and begin grappling on the grass.

Lisa and other guests try to pull them apart but Tony, 52, begins accidentally swinging punches towards her rather than his adversary, leaving her to shout 'no, you're battering me'. Her daughter Colleen Jarvis then falls backwards over a chair as other laughing guests look on and arguments rage around a bench broken in the chaos.

Furious Lisa eventually separates the pair to gain control, before finally warning Tony away by picking up a chair and wielding it towards him. Lancashire Police were called and have confirmed they escorted a man home and that enquiries are ongoing.

Tony has laughed off his poorly aimed punches, joking he's now 'too old to be getting into fights', but says he's thankful to the police for the 'lift home'. Adam, who says it was his first day of drinking in five years, admitted the fight 'was more like shadow boxing' and the whole incident was a 'drunken mess'.

Lisa compared it to cult BBC drama Shameless but admitted it did make her 50th birthday one she'll 'never forget'. A video of the gin and vodka-fuelled brawl has been viewed more than one million times, with users being left in tears of laughter and hailing it.

Lisa, from Colne, Lancashire, said: "You're only 50 once and this is certainly a birthday I'll never forget! It was mayhem. Adam was just winding people up, and he took [a lad's] e-cig. Tony stuck up for him, but instead of punching Adam he was punching me.

"They couldn't pack a punch between them because everyone was so drunk. I was in the middle of them to break it up, but I should have just left them to it. The video's hilarious. It's like something out of Shameless. I was like Meme. When I fell over backwards I just started laughing. Even the dog was barking to tell them off.

"When I watched it back, I thought 'oh my days'. I was embarrassed. We've been getting a lot of stick about it but some people are calling me a legend. A lot of my friends think it's brilliant."

Lisa says some neighbours were even laughing at the side-splitting scuffle from their gardens and her Staffordshire bull terrier Star, nine, was even barking to help stop it. Despite police being called to the scene both Tony and Adam say they made up at the end of the night.

Tony said: "It's funny to watch back. My girlfriend was falling over, Lisa was shouting and yelling, Everyone's falling all over the place. Adam was being cocky, but we were all p**sed up. It was more funny than anything else. He's not my mate but I know him. He's a nice lad.

"I accidentally threw a few punches at her but I didn't mean to. I didn't even know. I was tired more than anything. I'm too old for that sort of thing. There wasn't anything malicious in it. We sorted it out and the police gave me a lift home."

Adam says he can't remember if he took the e-cigarette or not and says he hasn't seen the video yet, but he's glad it's made people laugh.

He said: "It was more like shadow boxing. We'd had one too many drinks, then we had a few cross words and that's what happens. I didn't mean any ill intentions. And we had a laugh and a joke about it later on. It was more a drunken mess than anything else.

"I've done worse, and that's why I don't drink. It's the first time I've drank in five years. We sat in the heat, drinking gin and then all that went on. I can't remember. If I did take an e-cigarette off someone it was a little kid. I don't know, but yeah I didn't mean any ill intent towards anyone.

"I remember grabbing him and I don't even think I wanted to hit him. I think if we'd have wanted to hit each other, we would have done it. At least people have got a laugh out of it."
