Mum praises B&M 'energy saving' light for kids that costs just £5

With the cost of living still rising, it's not shocking that many of us are still cutting back on how much we spend when we go out.

But as well as shopping becoming more expensive, that includes our weekly food trip, energy bills are also on the rise with many people sharing tips on how they are going to save.

It comes ahead of the rise which, from October 1, means that energy bills will soar as the new price cap hits £2,500 a year for the average household.

As previously reported by Edinburgh Live, while the energy price guarantee freezes energy costs at this price, millions of households are still considered as this is higher than what we have had before and the cost of living is continuing to rise.

People are now looking at what they can stop using in addition to turning off their heating with one mum sharing a light that is said to be saving them money as well as still helping their kids.

Taking to the Facebook group, Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, she told the groups two million members: "Always had a night light on the landing in case my daughter needed the toilet. Yesterday she convinced me that it was a good idea to get a toilet light instead of having the light plugged in! Definitely saves us money on electric!!

The tip was posted to Facebook's Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group. (Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group.)

"Runs on batteries, has a sensor on and changes to eight different colours. My five year old was happy when she went for a wee in the night. Got it from B&M for £5."

Many people found the post helpful with some unsure of it being positioned in the toilet itself.

One said: "We have a motion sensor light on the cistern. Much better than turning a bright light on during the night."

Another added: "This looks like a decent idea."

"Looks like a portal to hell. Love the idea though lol" joked a third.
