A mum shelled out £10 for a visit to a Santa's grotto and her son was given a 10 sweets as a gift.
The mum was annoyed by the stunt and vented her anger on social media and criticising her Santa's grotto visit
But she was so annoyed by the stunt she vented her anger on social media and criticised the Santa's grotto visit.
She described the trip as "let down" on TikTok and captioned the clip of her son: "When you pay 10 pound to see Santa and get 10p sweets as a 'present'."
The youngster looked crestfallen after receiving his 'gift' and tried to munch his way through the classic sweets.
There is no detail of where the unfortunate grotto experience happened, but it is not the only let-down for parents this year.
Parents and children have experienced other disasters on festive trips.
They included a Winter Funland in Manchester which was described as "overhyped" and cost more than £100 for an hour and a half's experience.
A stick of candyfloss at the "festive extravaganza" also cost visitors £4.
And a Christmas market in Edinburgh parents were forced to pay £20 for six pieces of fudge.
In Winter Wonderland in London customers were charged £8 for a potato.
While one dad was charged almost £60 for pick-and-mix at another Christmas market.
Furious families have blasted a sub-par Christmas grotto which left kids “questioning if Santa was real" with one five-year-old outing him as “an imposter”.
The Mirror reported how organisers of the Christmas with Paddington Santa's Grotto experience insist it is a “high-quality experience” but a string of negative reviews on Facebook and Trip Advisor tell a different story.
Visitors said they felt rushed through the grotto, which includes a walk through a Christmassy recreation of the London street where Paddington bear lives with the Brown family, before heading into their home to meet Santa's elves and Paddington himself.
Families then get to individually meet Santa where children are given a gift.
But angry parents have called the experience a rip off, with tickets costing £15 for children, and £5 for adults - and then having to pay £10 for an official photo with Santa afterwards.
One disgruntled Dad complained that he and his three kids had been "noticeably rushed" through the winter wonderland inside Manchester’s Trafford Centre.
“Considering the cost, this is the worst Santa experience I have ever witnessed. I am so angry that my kids left feeling rushed, underwhelmed and questioning if Santa was real," he added.
On Tripadvisor there have also been a string of negative reviews, including from Gaz S who said: "Absolutely awful, such a rip off terrible value for money.
"You basically pay £40 to have a photo that then costs £20. Nothing else to it. Just in and out shocking value for money."
