Mum of two dies in car crash tragedy as son, 4, fights for life in hospital

A young mum has died in a car crash and her four-year-old son remains in hospital with life threatening injuries.

Emma Louise Morris, 28, died in a four car crash on the A487 Felinheli bypass near Caernarfon on Monday, April 3. Three other people were also seriously injured in the incident, including her four-year-old son.

Emma was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash and her son was airlifted to Alder Hey Children's Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Emma’s parents today issued a statement via North Wales Police and paid tribute to their "beautiful daughter", NorthWalesLive reports.

They said: “Our beautiful daughter has been cruelly taken from us - and too soon. At just 28 years old, our darling girl had so much more life to live.

"Emma Louise Morris was beautiful inside and out and will leave an enormous void in all of our lives. We are very grateful for all the kind words received from family and friends but we would ask that our privacy be respected at this difficult time and we will not issue any further comment.

"We continue to monitor our grandson who remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital. We pray that he will heal soon.”

In the wake of the tragedy, a JustGiving fundraiser was organised by friends to help Emma’s two sons and their father. In less than 24 hours, it has raised more than £1,300 towards its £2,000 target.

The organiser wrote: “Emma was the greatest friend to everyone and her beautiful smile could light up any room. She was one in a million. Emma will be missed by all her family and friends and everyone that knew her.”

Another woman was airlifted to Stoke Hospital with serious injuries. Two further people were taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor, with serious injuries.

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage leading up to the incident between 6.30pm-7pm. Officers are particularly keen to secure footage the Audi.
