Mum-of-seven can't get a job 'due to her whole face being covered in tattoos'

A mum-of-seven who has been out of work for eight months blames her colourful body art for her lack of job offers, believing that employers think she is unprofessional.

Melissa Sloan’s inkings cover her entire body from head to toe, including her entire face.

According to The Sun, she got a new tattoo of a Playboy bunny done recently, which adds to her collection of artworks, including depictions of the Kray twins and marijuana leaves. She has admitted to getting several new tattoos done each week.

Melissa, 46, from Knighton, Wales, is mother to seven children, and is desperate to find a job in order to provide for her brood.

She stated that she would be willing to take on any position and has previously applied for a cleaning job but said that she wasn’t taken on due to her tattoos.

Melissa has admitted that she hasn’t been able to find employment despite searching for ‘months and months and months’ to no avail.

She said: "I've got kids to provide for so I might have to have my tattoos removed, then I may finally be able to land a role."

Currently on Income Support and suffering from depression, Melissa has said she is eligible to have laser treatment for free.

She said: "I've been offered the procedures on my face and neck on the NHS. But I'm reluctant as my tattoos are part of me and I've heard rumours that it can make you all wrinkly and it is painful.

"However, if I've got to do it to find work, then I will. I will have all of my tattoos completely removed from my face and neck if I have to."

The mother of seven, whose two youngest children are aged under 10, said that she wants to prove her doubters wrong, and that she receives different treatment depending on whether she has covered her tattoos or not.

She said: "I think people assume I'm unprofessional. I constantly get unwanted attention and nasty remarks. But when I go out wearing a wig with make-up covering my tattoos, people treat me normally.”
