Mum-of-five back behind bars after dealing heroin and cocaine while looking after baby

A mother-of-five previously jailed for her involvement in a serious drug supply conspiracy is back behind bars on remand after dealing again while trying to look after her 15-month-old baby. Charlie Murray ended up in prison again after teaming up with another mother, drug addict Georgina Beaumont who used her home as a heroin and crack cocaine dealing operation, Hull Crown Court heard.

Michael Masson, mitigating, said the involvement of Murray in the offending would heavily impact her children as her 'youngest is in prison with her at the moment', Hull Live reports. The 32-year-old from. Hull and accomplices Beaumont, 49, and Glen Daley-Cooley, 20, of Bradford, admitted being concerned in supplying heroin and crack cocaine.

Judge Sophie McKone said Beaumont was caught running a drugs operation from her house by police on May 5 after she was spotted contacting two drug dealers in the street near her home. Daley-Cooley who was preparing drugs in the presence of Murray gave a false name to officers and has also confessed to two offences of possessing the drugs with intent to supply.

A phone that was being used for drug dealing was discovered and Daley-Cooley had £100 cash in his pocket along with 21 wraps of crack cocaine and 15 wraps of heroin.

Judge McKone said: "You all must know the damage that the supply of Class A drugs does to a community, not only those who take the drugs themselves but also to the community at large because people have to pay for these drugs and often descend into stealing from that community to pay for those drugs."

The operation took place in Georgina Beaumont's house (Humberside Police)

She continued: "Coming with drug dealing is antisocial behaviour. Your selfish behaviour in dealing drugs has a profound effect on those around you. You must have had, all three of you, some awareness of this operation."

Beaumont was going out into the streets to deal the drugs, Daley-Cooley was preparing the drugs and Murray was sitting next to him while he did it. Murray who had previous convictions including serving time for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs was on licence at the time of her most recent offences.

Despite having five children, her life as a mother was not enough to keep her away from dealing drugs and she returned to her past ways, Judge McKone said. Murray's 15-month-old child was in New Hall Prison, near Wakefield, with her at the moment while she has been in custody on remand since May.

Beautmont had previous convictions for possessing drugs and allowed her property to be used for drugs in 2005. The defendant had children at the time but they are now adults. Judge McKone said: "It does seem that you were able to remain drug-free for a great number of years".

Beaumont has 'begun the road to discovery' through doing methadone courses while in custody after her recent relapse which landed her in prison. Daley-Cooley had previous convictions as a youth but nothing involving drugs.

He was homeless at the time and came to Hull to live with Murray as he had nowhere else to stay. Michael Masson, mitigating said his client was 'remorseful' in regards to her involvement and that her actions would weigh heavily on her as her youngest child is in prison with her at the moment.

He said: "There is no evidence that she had understanding of the scale of the operation." The offences took place at Beaumont's flat.

Amber Hobson, representing Beaumont, said that the defendant became involved with drug misuse and addiction due to issues in her life. Miss Hobson said: "She has recognised that negative pattern of behaviour and has taken steps to end the cycle of offending with substance misuse".

Beaumont was on methadone while in Custody, also at New Hall and had secured a job working in the kitchen there as Miss Hobson said: "She is doing all she can to better herself". She and Murray appeared together via a video link from New Hall.

Murray was handed a four year prison sentence and Beaumont was sentenced to two years and eight months behind bars. Daley-Cooley was sent to a young offenders' institution for two years and three months.
