Mum mortified after catching Uber Eats delivery man 'scratching crotch at doorstep'

A mum was left mortified after catching an Uber Eats deliveryman seemingly scratching his crotch on her Ring doorbell camera.

Alex Wright was exhausted after a long day at work and ordered a McDonald's to her home.

But the 22-year-old was shocked when she saw the footage of the delivery driver which she said showed him fiddling with his trousers.

The mum-of-one laughed at first but was then so grossed out she couldn't eat her food..

The care home worker complained to Uber Eats and was told they would refund her £12.45 for her Quarter pounder, fries and mozzarella dippers meal.

But she never got the money back after the incident which happened on a Friday night.

Alex, of Chesterfield, Derbyshire , said: "I'd been at work that day and came home annoyed that I had to cook something.

"I decided I would order to save me cooking and washing up when I had to be at work early the next day.

"I'd usually drive to pick it up but after a long day I just really couldn't be bothered to go out again.

"I had the notification that the driver was here and went straight to my doorbell app to see he found the house okay.

"We live in a dark corner and it's not immediately obvious which house he would be delivering to.

"I saw it all live and it lasted a good 45 seconds to a minute."

"Initially I saw the funny side of it and had a giggle to myself before realising how physically disgusting it was, to the point I couldn't eat the food."

Alex added: "I understand he didn't actually handle the food and just the bag.

"But then I started to think about different scenarios, such as a waiter in a restaurant walking over with my plate of food whilst scratching his genitals.

"He's not physically handling my food but it's still disgusting."

She even thought it appears as though he had wet himself in the footage.

"I complained to Uber Eats and it was escalated to the senior support team.

"I received a phone call on Saturday from a lady who has put a block on the driver so he doesn't come here again. I was told I'd get a £12.45 refund which I'm yet to receive."

Alex posted the video online and said: "If I don't laugh, I'll cry."

An Uber Eats spokesperson said: "Food safety is our top priority here at Uber Eats.

"Couriers working with us are expected to follow our community guidelines on delivering orders and are asked to maintain good personal hygiene to help ensure the safety of food.

"We are currently investigating this report."
