Darcie's mum Laura told the ECHO: “We are all made up. My mum entered her and ironically when I found out the news I was on my way to my mum's house.

“We are all so proud. She is my little girl and I am so happy. Everyone loves her, when my friends come round they are always saying how cute she is.”

The toddler lives near Toxteth with her mum and two older brothers who are 13 and seven.

More than 300 youngsters were entered into this year's competition and 662,800 votes were cast.

Darcie was given a £500 cash prize for winning Cute Kids 2022. Runner-up Zachary Donaghue won £300 and third-placed Alessandra Doswell copped £200.

Chloe Robinson, Reach PLC North West, North Wales & West Midlands promotions manager, said: "We had some gorgeous pictures sent in and I'm sure not only did it bring some smiles to the parents seeing their little ones in the ECHO, but also to our readers as well.

"Having received some overwhelming numbers of votes for the first round, we then printed the top 40 who were voted for again and we can now proudly announce our winners.

"We hope they enjoy spending their winnings. Thank you to all that entered and notes, as always it's been a pleasure."
