Mum left with broken nose and black eyes after protecting daughter, 16, from gang

A mum has been left with brutal injuries after putting herself in harm's way to stop a gang of girls from beating up her daughter.

Michelle Audo, 48, confronted the group of 14-year-olds after they turned up at her home in Blue Springs, Missouri, US, on the night of May 14.

The gang were allegedly looking to fight Ms Audo's 16-year-old daughter, but the protective mother stepped in before they could reach her.

Ms Audo claimed that the girls arrived at the house "hyped up and ready to fight someone".

She said she was punched several times and sustained a broken nose, two black eyes and a concussion during the horrifying incident.

The mum eventually escaped the gang when her eldest daughter and husband stepped in to help.

“I thought I would just walk outside and tell them to leave and that they would leave," she told the NY Post. "That did not happen.”

Police were called, but by the time they arrived, the group had fled the scene. Later, one of the teens took to Snapchat to boast about the attack.

She allegedly wrote: "Imagine letting ur mom get her a*s beat" and "Tell yo mom to come clean her blood off my window".

Police charged two of the teen suspects with simple assault. Their names have not been released due to their age. They will face the charges in Juvenile Court, according to Jennifer Brady of Blue Springs Missouri Police Department.

"We are waiting for the investigation to be completed before the charges are filed," Brady said.

"The girls have not been arrested. One is looking at assault charges so far. It is not determined if the other teen will face charges."

According to a police report obtained by the Kansas City Star, Ms Audo said a blonde female "ended up on top of her and was continuing to strike her in the face with a closed fist" while another girl was “on top of Ms Audo trying to help the blonde female".

Blue Springs Police Chief Bob Muenz said that a juvenile unit had been assigned to the case, but that it could be upgraded to a family court with a judge due to the severity of Ms Audo's injuries, reported the Kansas City Star.

Ms Audo told the NY Post that the teen's violent actions "were significant" and hopes that they are given “consequences other than community service".

“They think they are grown enough to beat up someone’s mom, I think they need to pay the consequences,” Ms Audo told the Kansas City Star. “What’s going to stop them from coming back? Or to do this to somebody else?”
