Mum left scared and in tears after neighbour 'smeared poo on front door' following row

In early 2021, Courtney Cobb and her boyfriend Jay Chapman, 23, moved into a block of flats in Wallsend, North Tyneside.

Initially, the couple says they were friendly with all their neighbours, but things soon took a sour turn with one person that they've dubbed their "nightmare neighbour".

They say they ended up making a number of complaints to their landlord and the police as the unnamed man would smoke and play loud music outside their flat often, which troubled them as they had a newborn baby at home.

A feud between the neighbours continued on for months and eventually, the man decided to move out and he handed his keys back earlier this month.

But on his way out, the 20-year-old mum claims he stopped at their doorstep to carry out a final "bitter" act.

Courtney believes the man smeared dog poo on their front door and on the door handle.

However, the neighbour denied being the culprit.

Police confirmed they attended the incident, however, no arrests were made.

Courtney said: "He was acting suspicious but until I saw it I didn't connect the dots. We thought we heard someone at our door touching the handle but we thought it's not the postman or anything so we left it.

"A delivery driver came to drop off our food and he was like 'what's that on your door?' and we looked and just knew straight away who it was.

"As my partner went down to get the food delivery he zoomed off and we were like 'yep, that was him'.

"My partner was furious and I was just scared, I was crying."

The mum continued to say how the incident made her feel like she was failing her daughter.

"I was sitting there with my baby in my arms thinking it's my job to protect her and I feel like I can't even do that if someone can get to me in this way and this is where she lives," Courtney explained.

"I think it was just a big 'f- you' because he knew he wasn't going to be living here anymore.

"It's just shocking, obviously I didn't like him as a person but I didn't think he would ever stoop that low. I don't even know how that thought would come into someone's head."

After allegedly smearing dog poo on their door, the mum claims a delivery driver alerted them to the mess just in time for her partner to see the former neighbour driving off.

Courtney says she messaged the man and he denied committing the foul act - but she claims she got wind that he had bragged about it to other neighbours on the street.

Speaking about the incident, the former neighbour said: "I've had nothing but hassle from her, that's why I've moved out. I've done absolutely nothing wrong, they've just caused aggravation unnecessarily.

"She's made loads of lies up about me. I'm a hard-working lad.

"I run a business where I have lads working for me and I'm out of the house pretty much 12 hours a day. I'm getting back at like eight or nine o'clock and going straight to bed.

"I've never played music and I certainly don't smoke.

"I had police at my door because they've called the police - they've come numerous times and walked away. There's been no action taken because I've not done anything.

"I've just been having my life disrupted for the past year and I don't know what their problem is.

"I've bought my own property and moved out. They've complained the last year and I can't be dealing with being next to them.

"I did not rub poo on their door."

Northumbria Police confirmed that they attended the incident earlier this month and no arrests were made.
