Mum left red-faced after accidentally ordering rude Peppa Pig plate for her toddler

A mum was left embarrassed after a Peppa Pig plate she ordered featured a rude phrase.

Maggy Van Eijk bought the plastic dinner set for her daughter, but was stunned at what she received when the order arrived.

It turned out that the author had accidentally ordered a French version of the set.

And instead of the word 'snout' written all over the cups and plates, Maggy instead had the word 'groin'.

Groin is French for snout, or specifically a pig's snout.

Sharing a photo of the dinner set, Maggy tweeted: "My kid just unwrapped her new Peppa dinner set and I accidentally ordered a French version.

The plates and cups had the word 'groin' all over them which means 'snout' in French (@maggyvaneijk /Twitter)

“Now it says groin groin groin all over the plates and cup.”

The tweet, which has been liked more than 30,000 times, left her followers in hysterics.

One follower said: "I knew French ducks said 'coin coin' but didn't know pigs spoke in groin. Every day's a school day."

Another said: "You are in more trouble than you think. You will need to explain that the "oi" in "groin groin" is pronounced "wa." So when they meet the English words "Oink, oink" be careful how they pronounce them."

“Living in France at present I find this hilarious,” another wrote.

“A child’s first chance to understand there are many different languages!!!”

“Sorry I should not laugh but you have brightened up my day,” another woman tweeted.

Luckily for Maggy, her two-year-old daughter didn't understand the meaning.

She told the Evening Standard : "She turned two so she has literally no idea what it says, thank god."
