Mum left horrified after finding mouse hiding in her Christmas tree

A mum was left horrified after putting up her Christmas tree - only to find an unwelcome guest hiding in its branches. Gina had just finished decorating when she discovered a mouse hiding in the festive fir - with some describing her ordeal as their worst nightmare, according to the Mirror.

In a video posted to her Tik Tok account @gina_premmama, the mum-of-two can be seen investigating the cause of an unusual rustling noise between the branches by poking the her beautifully decorated Christmas tree with a broom. Suddenly a little mouse appears, with its beady black eyes and grey fur barely distinguishable amongst the Christmas lights and decorations.

In text that appears across the clip, stunned Gina wrote: "Thought I was seeing things" with a panicked emoji. She also added to the caption "Help!!!!!!" to the video, which features Michael Bublé's version It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas playing in the background.

TikTok users quickly took to the comments to share their thoughts of Gina's Christmas tree creature, with one person writing: "The way I would’ve simply set the whole tree on fire ". Another said: "I would of died on the spot" while someone else admitted that it was their "biggest fear" to find a rodent hiding in their tree.

Another TikTok user joked: "I would have destroyed they whole tree in a panic" whilst someone else said that the discovery would have caused them to "faint". However, others expressed concerned for the mouse and urged the mum not to harm it when she removed it from the tree.

One user pleaded: "Please don't hurt him. You may have taken his home accidentally please don't hurt him". A second quipped: "Ppl [sic] this dramatic over a mouse", while others said that they couldn't see the mouse in the video at all.

Gina later posted a follow-up video where she wrote: "No mouse was harmed in the making of this video he's safely outside now with my Christmas tree" with a laughing emoji.

In the updated clip, she can be seen poking at the floor near her Christmas tree with her broom, with two cats darting behind the sofa - seemingly trying to catch the mouse. Although the mouse doesn't appear in Gina's second clip, people were concerned that the little rodent might not be safe, as one wrote: "I mean it looks like it was getting hurt".

Others joked that their cats would be useless in the situation, with one person adding: "Atleast your cats are doing their job. Mine on the other hand...".
