Mum left almost in tears over Aldi employee's treatment of her autistic toddler

A mum has recalled how she was almost left in tears by how an Aldi employee treated her autistic son. Natalie Evans, a mum from Wrexham, in North Wales, heaped praise on the Aldi employee, who works at a store in the town.

We know this isn't a Manchester story, but it'll put a smile on your face, and when we saw it, we couldn't resist sharing it. Wrexham is only an hour's drive from Manchester, and after seeing how wonderful Paula is, people would be forgiven for wanting to take the journey to experience her incredible customer service.

Mum Natalie shared her story on the Wrexham Town Matters Facebook group, where it's been liked and shared thousands of times. Writing in the group, she said: "Absolutely lovely lady who works on the tills in Aldi Plas Coch. My son is non verbal autistic and is fascinated with the till. She took the time to engage with him and let him scan the shopping. He signed thank you to her and she did it back and he waved. What could have been overwhelming for him was made more “relaxing” for him (if this makes sense). Things like this make shopping with autism/needs that bit easier. Fantastic customer service."

Several comments revealed that the Aldi employee in question is Paula Jackson. People are calling her an 'asset to the company', and now want Aldi to recognise her incredible efforts.

Kirsten Delinicolis said she'd had a similar experience with the Aldi employee. She wrote: "Such a lovely lady. I have MS and sometimes struggle loading and unloading my trolley or trying to open my purse and use the card machine, with fingers that sometimes dont want to work. This lady always has so much patience and helps so much. I hope management read these comments! They have an employee in a million with this lady!"

Jill Garnett praised: "What a lovely post. If they do Employee Of The Month she certainly deserves it." Debbie Gavan Castle said: "Paula is an amazing lady. Whenever my 23 year old son was with me (severe autism, learning disabilities, adhd and epilepsy), she was an absolute star with him."

Nia Roberts said: "What an absolute credit to Aldi UK this lady is, not to mention Wrexham. That must have meant the world to you as a mother. Your son looks like he’s living his best life right there. What a heartwarming story."

Sara Mann said: "Love the staff at Aldi - what a fabulous employee she is. Heartwarming." Aimi Waters wrote: "This woman is brilliant!! Will always head for her checkout in Aldi!"

Lisa Breese commented: "This lady is lovely and always makes me smile when I’m in there. I hope she gets to see this post." Claire Lloyd said: "This women is lovely and amazing with my son when I go in don't think she gets enough praise."
