Mum in hysterics as she pranks partner with chocolate 'sponge' cake daughters made

A mum-of-three has gone viral after recording the moment she pranked her partner with a chocolate 'sponge' cake - made with a kitchen sponge. Lucie Broadbent, 33, is a self-proclaimed joker and was very keen to prank her 32-year-old partner Daniel Dollard and thankfully for her, the perfect moment arrived.

With a little help from their kids Hallie and Heidi, 10, and Brooklyn, 13, the four of them decorated the sponge to make it look like a cake before serving it to Daniel. After seeing him tuck into their tasty baking, Lucie said: "Somehow I just knew Dan would fall for it - probably because it's food!

"I told Dan our twin girls had baked him a sponge cake and they joined in encouraging him to eat it."

According to Lucie, he looked unsure at first about whether or not to bite into it, but the sponge was rock hard as it had been put in the fridge so he decided to give it a try.

The family went into hysterics when they saw what he had done.

Lucie said: "We laughed, he laughed, the children laughed. It really did entertain the kids - especially because of the look on his face!"

The mum-of-three recounted seeing a prank similar to this on TikTok and decided to recreate it.

"He actually told me afterwards he had no idea it was a sponge, he just assumed I'd put something on top he didn't like,' she said.

"This prank literally cost me nothing as I had all the items in the house and just used cooking chocolate."

After this Daniel will be sure to keep an eye out if he is ever offered some cake again.

"I definitely have some more tricks up my sleeve, so Dan better watch out," Lucie added.
