A parent has caused a stir online after sharing a look at the concerned message she recently received from her son's teacher - and the cheeky response she sent back to the educator.
Food writer Jenny Mollen, 43, shared a look at the amusing conversation she had with the teacher in a series of Instagram photos. At the time, the mum who is married to American Pie actor Jason Biggs, was on a trip to Copenhagen.
While away, it seems the parent enjoyed some rather traditional Danish food at culinary restaurant legend, Noma, a three-starred Michelin restaurant - which has reindeer penis ragout on the menu.
This delicacy had clearly reached the ears of the child, as the teacher had shared her distress over the little boy's language choice of language used in the classroom.
The teacher, known only as Karen, quickly sent an email to Mrs Biggs to make her aware of the awkward situation.
It said: "Dear Ms. Biggs, today in school your son shared with his classmates that you are in Copenhagen on an adult trip and have been eating (pardon my language) ‘tons of penis’.
"While I hate to bother you on your vacation, I felt strongly that you should be aware and perhaps address the issue at your earliest convenience."
Duly taken to task by her son’s teacher, Mollen’s response was pitch perfect. She replied: "Dear Karen, He’s not lying. I have been eating tons of penis on this trip. Def gonna need to reign it in when I get home. Thank you so much for checking in on me. See you at drop off!"
Alongside the email she attached a photo of the menu from the restaurant, to illustrate her point.
Mollen’s Instagram post showed people appreciated the light-hearted exchange, with one comment saying: "This is the content we need in this terrifying world. Thank you."
"Fabulous exchange," said another, "I laughed out loud."
Some common sense from a teacher: "I’m a teacher (granted I teach high school) and I would laugh if a kid said that. I might give you a heads up and tell the kid that is interesting, but we should save that talk for another time."
"Omg I’m dead," said another. "I wish someone was there to film her face when she read that response."
