A mum of two documented going on strike in the family home after her husband's comment about her housekeeping skills.
Lindsay Donnelly, 33, decided to make a point after her husband, Brian, suggested she never contributes to the cleanliness of their home.
What started as a spontaneous act turned into a humorous social media moment for the mum - on her TikTok account @lindsaydonnelly2.
Lindsay explained that the comment from her husband was part of an ongoing conversation about the challenges of maintaining a tidy household while both parents work and care for their 4-year-old and 7-year-old children.
Feeling the need to prove her point, Lindsay decided to show her husband what it would look like if she truly did nothing to clean up.
The idea of going on strike came to her after a night out with friends, where they laughed about her not doing any housework.
The following day, as she was preparing for a girls' trip, Lindsay realised the humour in the situation and decided to document it on TikTok.
Lindsay's kids were busy being kids and didn't notice a lot of the mess, but her daughter did get to witness her mum unmake a bed.
She said: "She asked, 'What are you doing?' and I said, 'Mummy's not doing any housework.'"
Meanwhile, her husband remained unaware of the strike.
She said: "I don't know if he even realised until I told him," she laughs. "He was just annoyed the house is messy.
"I was shocked no one had said anything to him, any of his friends, at that point. But then over the week, his friends started screenshotting and chiming in."
Despite the attention, Lindsay says her and her husband maintain a good relationship.
"I want to make more content about this. I feel like Brian and I have a good relationship and we can make fun of ourselves, even in our weak moments and I think that that's helpful. It's reality and comedy at the same time," she adds.
"I really hope to make more content that resonates with people in a way that doesn't make people think we should get a divorce."
However, Lindsay acknowledges that negative comments on social media can be disheartening.
She said: "Some people were joking, but I think other people took it to like a really negative mean place and I just worry about for like our kids and like our future if grown adults are acting like that when they're commenting on people's content.
"How can we then expect our children to behave? For me, it took a toll.
"It makes me sad because the internet should be a place where we can share authentically without being afraid of, you know, people jumping down your throat or being judged, or being bullied.
"And I'm really actually passionate about figuring out how we can make it a safer place."
While the mum's strike may have started as a response to a snide comment, it has evolved into a lighthearted moment that resonates with many parents facing similar challenges.
