Mum furious after courier 'loses' children's Christmas presents worth more than £100

A mum has been left furious after a courier 'lost' her children's Christmas presents worth more than £100. Becky Wilson claims the company she bought the gifts from won't refund her until after they process the dispute with Evri.

The mother purchased the presents last month and was informed a few days later that they were with her local Evri courier. However, they never arrived and she sent several complaints to the delivery service over the matter, reports Lancs Live.

However, she claims they informed her that her items had been 'lost'. Becky said: "I have five kids and work hard night shifts to pay for my stuff.

"Now I've lost £104 worth of things, it's so frustrating." The mother has also got in touch with the company which she purchased the order from but the issue is still ongoing.

The children's presents were bought from a shopping business on Facebook, who have since sent Becky proof of postage of the order. However, she claims they informed her that they will have to deal with Evri first before she can get back her money.

Becky said: "It's happened to lots of people, it's just sad this time of year. Especially how the cost of living is, we are all really struggling to give our children a good Christmas as it is, without having this on top."

A spokesperson for Evri said: “We are sorry that some customers are experiencing short delays in receiving their parcels. Like everyone in the sector we are experiencing higher than normal volumes driven in part by the Royal Mail Strikes as well as final-mile staffing shortages in some local areas.

"We’ve invested over £60 million in our network infrastructure so our service remains strong and we are successfully delivering over three million parcels every day with no delays or backlogs in the majority of our network. Our local teams are working hard to ensure that any delayed parcels will arrive before Christmas and we thank everyone for their patience and understanding.”
