Making up children's lunch boxes can feel like a bit of an ordeal at times, particularly when you've got a million and one other tasks to be getting on with. Busy mum Chelsea, who runs The Organising Platform, regularly shares content to help fellow parents feel a bit more on top of their lives, no matter how hectic things might get.
Demonstrating her 'quickest mum hack ever' on Instagram, Chelsea demonstrated how she makes a large batch of her kids' sandwiches in advance, using a loaf of fresh bread to make them up. She then simply pops the sandwiches back into the original bag the bread came in, putting this back in the freezer.
Demonstrating her hack in an instructive video, Chelsea, who goes by the Instagram handle @theorganisingplatform, explained: "By the next day, your sandwiches will be frozen stiff.
"Grab yourself a butter knife, separate them, cut them up, and pop them straight into the lunch boxes, saving you time and money. Play around with your kids' favourite fillings in your sandwiches, and let me know how you go!"
In the caption of the vid, Chelsea wrote: "This super quick hack has certainly saved me from stopping in at the bakery on the way to school or sending the kids to school with another lunch order."
Many of Chelsea's followers were impressed by the hack, vowing to try it for themselves, while others weren't too sure.
One person applauded: "I do this! I cut them up before I freeze them and then defrost them the night before and straight into lunch boxes in the morning it saves so much time!"
Another commented: "Been doing this for years, also with Vegemite and cheese and pizza scrolls! I also now make bacon egg and cheese English muffins and freeze them individually for a quick reheat breakfast on the go!"
Meanwhile, a third shuddered: "No thanks. Gross. I make them fresh the night before and they're totally fine. I have four in school and two at home and honestly, this works just as quickly."
