A "perfect" mum who will "live on forever through her children" died after collapsing at home.

Paula Redfern, from Litherland, died on Thursday, October 13 despite the best efforts from her husband Tony and paramedics. The 38-year-old was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 18 and suffered numerous complications over the years directly linked to the chronic disease.

In the last two to three years Paula’s kidney function dramatically deteriorated due to diabetic kidney failure. She was on the transplant list for a double transplant, for both kidney and pancreas.

A pervert posed as a doctor in order to sexually assault a hospital patient in her 80s.

The grandma was asleep in her cubicle in the A&E department of the Royal Liverpool Hospital when Carl Burger targeted her, falsely telling her he was a medical professional who was performing an examination. It came just over two months after he had groped another victim as she slept.

Liverpool Crown Court heard this afternoon, Friday, that the latter incident occurred on June 8 this year. Cheryl Mottram, prosecuting, outlined how the severely disabled woman was asleep on her sofa and woke to find Burger groping her left breast underneath her pyjama top.

'Homeless' mum slams 'disgusting' treatment in council housing row

A mum who was made homeless earlier this year claims she's received "disgusting" treatment in her search for a council house.

Natalie Pinch, 30, from Wallasey, was issued a section 21 notice by her private landlord in March this year. The mum-of-one claims she contacted Wirral Council's housing options team straight away, but was told she would have to wait unil she was served an eviction notice before the council could act.

When she received the notice in June, Natalie alleges she passed the information on to the council, but was simply told "someone would be in touch". Natalie, who lives with her mum and eight-year-old daugter, says she wasn't contacted by a housing officer until a week before she was due to be evicted.
