Mum feels like Barbie doll 'clicking into place' after evil ex mows her down in car

A mum whose ex mowed her down with his car while their daughter was on the backseat told a court she felt like a "Barbie doll being clicked into place" as she tries to walk again.

Amy Boardman was seriously injured by ex-partner Christopher Greer, who drove the Ford Fiesta at her after an ongoing custody battle of their six-year-old daughter.

The rage-fuelled act left the mum, from Bolton, with a fractured skull and bleed on her brain after hitting her head on the kerb.

Greer, whose fiancée Kelly was also present, drove at Amy and her friend Emma Hurst, sending them onto the bonnet, before Amy then grabbed onto the car's wing mirror, slipping and hitting the pavement.

Ms Hurst was also thrown to the ground in the assault, injuring her wrist, before Greer fled the scene.

Greer was jailed at Bolton Crown court after admitting causing serious injury by dangerous driving, as well as actual bodily harm and driving with no insurance.

Addressing the court, Amy described the "crazed look" in Greer's eyes as he drive at her, as she heartbreakingly admitted she "grieves for the person I used to be".

In a harrowing victim impact statement read out in court, Miss Boardman said: "I am still suffering in pain. I click when I walk, and I sound like a Barbie doll being clicked into place.

"I will quite often do myself more damage when just trying to get myself up. I feel disabled and trapped inside my own body.

"I did nothing to him that could explain what he did to me. I feel like I am bottling life more than ever. I am grieving for the person I used to be.

"I can't believe how he sleeps at night, given how much his actions impacted me.

"He put a halt on everything I have done in my life. I feel I am being punished for something I didn't do."

Amy also revealed how her daughter had been left "needing therapy" after witnessing the horror attack, and can no longer trust her dad.

The couple split in March 2017 and initially shared custody over their daughter, but problems arose after he began allowing contact between the girl and Miss Boardman's estranged mother.

The court how Greer has gone to Miss Boardman's home on May 21 last year to collect their daughter after "heated" discussions earlier that day about visitations, which resulted in the victim threatening to call police.

"Miss Hurst went up to the defendant's stationary vehicle and filmed it for Moss Boardman's benefit," Andrew McIntosh, prosecuting, said.

"But the Fiesta reversed suddenly before speeding towards the two women who were stood in the road."

Greer was arrested the day after the assault but denied he was in the car when interviewed, claiming he didn't even drive and had never owned a red Ford Fiesta.

Emma Hurst, in her statement, said: "I still have no idea why he did this.

"He has not only ruined his life because of this, but also the lives of his partner and children too."

Kevin Liston, for Greer, said the father-of-two "did not intend to go to cause harm to his former partner" and was "not seeking confrontation with either woman".

Jailing Greer, Judge Tom Gilbart told him: "You used your car as a weapon and this had a serious impact on your former partner."

Greer was also banned from driving for three years which will start when he is freed from jail.

He was further made subject of a ten year restraining order banning him from contacting Miss Boardman.
