Mum dies in car crash on day of husband's funeral leaving six kids orphaned

Six children have been left orphaned after their mother was tragically killed in a car crash within hours of their dad's funeral. Louis Nowak lost his battle with cancer in March and his widowed wife Sarah was cruelly killed on the day of his funeral after the car she was travelling in lost control and flipped into a ditch in Wisconsin, USA.

Sara's mother, Patricia Cartwright paid an emotional tribute to the pair who she believes were inseparable, the Daily Star reports. In a heart breaking post, she said: "Where one was, the other one was. What the other one didn't think of, the other one did. I don't think she could be without him. So, she is with him."

The couple who were married for nearly six years are said to have loved spending time together as a family on camping trips and holidays. Louis passed away from an aggressive form of cancer on March 19 before Sara's horrific car crash on April 1.

An investigation into the cause of the crash remains ongoing with police believing that the driver lost control of the wheel before the car entered a ditch, struck a culvert and flipped over. Police are yet to reveal the name of the driver of the car, who was also pronounced dead at the scene, or their connection to the bereaved family.

Ms Cartwright, who has set up a GoFundMe page to help financially support the six children went on to add that she would like everyone to remember her daughter as someone who was full of life. She told CBS 58: "Her house was never full, because there was always room for one more.

"Whenever there was something that somebody needed, she said, 'Don't worry we got this.' It's really hard because you get done and then five and a half hours later, you get a call saying that your daughter was in an accident.

"We want everyone to remember her as being full of life."
