Mum creates gorgeous panel mirror feature with £1 IKEA hack inspired by Stacey Solomon

Buying accessories for your home can often become quite costly.

But one mum-of-one has tried out a savvy £1 IKEA hack which has helped her to transform her dining room on a budget.

Jenna Jessup, 34, saw the mirror hack on Facebook and, after seeing Stacey Solomon replicate it in her home, decided to give it a go herself.

She has now created a gorgeous panel mirror feature in her dining room using IKEA products costing just £1 and £1.75.

"I came across the IKEA mirror hack idea on Facebook, as well as seeing that celebrity Stacey Solomon had done this very hack too," Jenna told DIY On A Budget UK.

"My friend also suggested that my kitchen diner would be a great place to put it to make the room look bigger.

"Firstly, after deciding on the right colour frames for my kitchen diner, I headed to IKEA to purchase the frames and mirrors."

Jenna bought 16 IKEA FISKBO frames which cost £1.75 each and 16 LONSAS mirrors at £1 each.

“I’d advise people to buy an extra mirror or two than you need just in case you break one whilst you are assembling," she advised.

"The other materials required are a spirit level, which is an absolute must have, a measuring tape, a pencil and command strips.

“Another tip - do not use the cheaper version of command strips as I find they either do not stick, or they damage the paint work."

Once she had everything she needed, Jenna then got to work creating the mirror wall.

"Firstly, I measured my wall to ensure the mirrors would be central," she said.

"I then slotted all the mirrors into the frames once they were all unwrapped and stuck the command strips onto the back of the frames.

"I stuck them directly to the wall - and that's it, easy."

The money-saving mum decorated the rest of her dining room with bargain buys from IKEA, Facebook Marketplace, B&M and Amazon.

“I accessorised my shelves with IKEA plants and glass domes," Jenna said.

"My second-hand dining table was £50 from Facebook Marketplace and I got the chair covers from Amazon for £21.99 and table runner which cost £13.99.

"I spent £28 on IKEA frames and £7 on four more for my pictures."

“The IKEA mirrors cost £17, the IKEA flowers were £26, the command strips were £10.80 and the IKEA glass domes were £9 each," she added.

"The table centrepiece was £12 from Dunelm, the single shelf from B&M was £10 and the double shelf from B&M was £15."

“In total, the whole dining area cost £220.77 which is a bargain.

"I absolutely love it and if I can do it, anyone can."
