A mum-of-two died after becoming "wobbly on her feet" and collapsing at home.
Sheila Asquith, 54, of Langton Road in Kirkby, was known to suffer from fibromyalgia and painful swellings all over her body. This week an inquest into her death heard Sheila rarely went to the doctors and instead used over-the-counter drugs to relieve her pain.
In the week before her death on March 25, this year, Sheila had been taking a large amount of painkillers to help but had become unsteady on her feet. Sheila's daughter Kelly told the inquest she feared her mum was taking too many of the tablets, and had previously confiscated them as she feared she would accidentally overdose.

After her death, a post mortem found that Sheila's cause of death was chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), combined with a fatty liver and a combination of prescription drugs and amphetamines.
Handing down a narrative conclusion, coroner Julie Goulding said: "Sheila had serious underlying chronic pulmonary disease which in combination with drug toxicity and an underlying fatty liver caused her death. Police were satisfied there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.
"There was insufficient evidence, even on balance, that Sheila intended to cause herself any harm."
