Mum called 'icon' after sending boyfriend for a Greggs after giving birth

A hungry new mum was caught on camera blissfully enjoying a special moment with her new bundle of joy - a Greggs vegan sausage roll she scoffed just hours after giving birth. Lottie Adele had just come round after having baby Meadow via c-section when she felt peckish.

The mum-of-two demanded boyfriend Luke Adam nip to Greggs and pick up a tasty snack for her. Luke rushed to a branch of the bakery and picked up some sausage rolls and vegan sausage rolls for the pair to enjoy.

After returning to Royal Preston Hospital where the 36-year-old was recovering, Luke captured a sneaky shot of her cradling the 6lbs 13oz tot while enjoying her savoury treat. Lottie posted the picture on social media with the playful caption: "When the hospital food just doesn't cut it ... @GreggsOfficial (4 hours after giving birth) will do the trick."

Lottie from Preston, Lancashire, said: "I'd just co me round from surgery, I'd had a c-section. I was starving - all I'd eaten was a little bit of toast. Then we were just really hungry, so I made my boyfriend go across the road to get a Greggs.

"I don't even eat meat, it was a vegan sausage roll. It was still just as good. My boyfriend got himself about four sausage rolls. He brought it and then I didn't even know he was taking those pictures. It was a moment just holding my newborn.

"I didn't even realise I wanted it and then he saw the Greggs across the road and I thought 'I need it'. I didn't realise how hungry I was but when I had it I was so relieved, It was great.

"It was a planned c-section so I went into Royal Preston Hospital at 8.30am, had the c-section at about9.30am, then had my Greggs at about 11.30am. The doctors and nurses didn't say anything about it. I felt guilty about not eating the lunch they had made so we ate them sneakily."

Lottie followed up her post with the comment: "Little baby girl born yesterday morning. She's perfect. And so was the Greggs."

Greggs saw the post that they shard on their social media toasting the new mum, which read: "Congratulations [emoji]. What a beautiful Sausage Roll [emoji]."

One person commented: "This will absolutely be me one day, 99% sure I want to serve Greggs at my wedding too."

Another wrote: "I swear she better call the baby Gregg…"

One quipped: "She defo got crumbs on the baby."

Another wrote: "Icon."
