A mother and her son have been given a court order which forbids them from seeing one another for two years. The highly unusual command was put in place after police pushed for an injunction to keep the pair separate.
Tina Lean, 54, and her son, Jamie Power, 31, will now be kept apart until 2024 - and if they defy the ruling they could both potentially face time in prison, the Mirror reports. Thames Valley Police said they had received numerious reports of loutish behaviour from the pair, inlcuding being violent and abusive towards each other and the public.
The force then requested the uncommon injunction, which was given with "great reluctance" after the pair both "refused to engage" in attempts being made to support them. As a result, an Anti-Social Behaviour Civil Injunction was granted to police at Milton Keynes County Court, which will remain in place until September 2024.
A representative for Thames Valley Police said: "Tina Lean, of Belgrave Road in Aylesbury, Bucks., and Jamie Power, of Freemantle Road in Aylesbury, are both subject to the injunction. The injunction forbids Lean from being in a private dwelling or any paid accommodation with Power and encouraging Power to breach the terms of the injunction.
"Meanwhile, the injunction forbids Power from being in paid accommodation with Lean; using any threatening or abusive language towards Lean; using any violence against any person; entering Belgrave Road in Aylesbury; entering any hotel in Aylesbury, High Wycombe, or Hemel Hempstead, unless placed there for emergency housing by the council or a recognised housing provider; and failing to obey any instructions given by police officers or Police Community Support Officers."
Investigating officer Police constable Glen Crosland, of the Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "It is with great reluctance that Thames Valley Police has had to resort to such extreme measures to protect the public and protect Tina Lean and Jamie Power from each other. However, despite offers of support, Lean and Power have refused to engage.
"The force has received numerous reports of anti-social behaviour carried out by both Lean and Power, from members of the public, business owners, NHS staff, and other emergency service personnel. These reports include Lean and Power calling emergency services, when there was no support needed, as well as being abusive and often violent behaviour towards the public and each other."
