Police have asked the public to help find a mother and her four children who have gone missing in Wales.
South Wales Police released a picture of the family as they launched a missing persons appeal in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The mum, 33-year-old Jemma, went missing from Merthyr Tydfil on Monday along with her children Christopher (aged 11), Julian (nine), Maddison (seven) and Stephen (three), Wales Online reported.
Police have asked anyone that has seen Jemma or her children, or has any information about their possible whereabouts, to call 101 or use their online portal here while quoting reference 2200239755.
South Wales Police said on Twitter shortly after midnight on Tuesday morning: "Help us find Jemma and her four children. Jemma, 33, Christopher, 11, Julian, 9, Maddison, 7 and Stephen, 3, from Merthyr Tydfil , were reported missing yesterday. Please contact us quoting occurrence number 2200239755."
According to missingpeople.org.uk, around 170,000 people are reported missing in the UK each year with nearly 98,000 of those adults and more than 70,000 children.
Around three quarters of adults and 80% of children are located within 24 hours of going missing but five% of grown-ups and two% of youngsters will remain unfound for more than a week.
As of March 2020, there were over 5,300 people in the UK classed as long-term missing who had not been seen for over a year, with around a third of those children.
