As multiple wildfires continue to ravage Los Angeles County, progress is being made in containing some of the blazes, allowing resources to be redirected towards the largest and most challenging fire, the Palisades Fire.
The Kenneth Fire, which has affected areas in both Los Angeles and Ventura Counties, is now 90% contained, while the Hurst Fire in the City of Los Angeles is at 76% containment, as reported by CalFire.
CalFire spokesperson Chris Harvey emphasized the strategic deployment of firefighting crews, stating, 'You’re going to see crews that will be released from those incidents that can then be deployed to the Palisades Fire.'
The Palisades Fire, which ignited on January 7, has already consumed a significant area, reaching 23,654 acres. However, containment efforts have only reached 11% as of the latest update from CalFire.
With the gradual containment of other fires, firefighters are now able to focus their efforts on the Palisades Fire, aiming to increase containment and minimize further damage to the affected areas.
