Authorities in Massachusetts reported a series of stabbing incidents that occurred in Braintree and surrounding areas, resulting in multiple injuries. The first attack took place at the AMC Braintree 10 movie theater, where a man entered a theater without paying and proceeded to stab four girls aged 9 to 17. The assailant launched the unprovoked attack before fleeing the scene, leaving the victims with non-life-threatening injuries.
Law enforcement was able to identify the suspect through video footage of his vehicle and license plate, which led to a subsequent sighting in Plymouth, approximately 27 miles south of Braintree. In Plymouth, a 21-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man were found stabbed near a McDonald's restaurant and were transported to hospitals for treatment.
State police later located the suspect's vehicle in Sandwich, about 20 miles further south, and attempted to initiate a stop. The driver, however, evaded the authorities and eventually crashed the vehicle. Following the crash, the driver was apprehended and taken to a hospital for treatment. The individual's identity has not been disclosed at this time.
Authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the series of stabbings to determine any potential connections between the incidents. The motive behind the attacks remains unclear as law enforcement works to gather more information regarding the suspect and the circumstances surrounding the violent acts.
