Authorities in Palm Beach County sprang into action on Wednesday evening as multiple residents were rescued following reports of tornadoes touching down in the area. The Palm Beach County Fire Rescue responded to distress calls, with some individuals found trapped under debris or stuck in overturned vehicles due to the powerful winds.
Emergency 911 calls began flooding in around 5 p.m. and continued for nearly an hour, keeping the fire rescue teams on high alert. Upon arrival, the rescue crews encountered a scene of destruction, with several homes damaged, vehicles displaced, and debris scattered across the affected area.
According to a statement released on Facebook by the Fire Rescue department, five patients, including three trauma cases, were swiftly transported to local hospitals for urgent medical attention. Additionally, numerous other individuals with minor injuries sought treatment at the scene.
As the cleanup efforts commenced, fire officials issued a warning to residents, advising them to avoid venturing out onto the roads in the impacted region. The focus remains on clearing debris and ensuring the safety of the community in the aftermath of the tornadoes.
