On Christmas night, a family dispute turned violent at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in Arizona, resulting in three people being shot and another person being stabbed. The incident occurred outside a restaurant at Terminal 4, outside the security perimeter. Responding officers found three individuals with gunshot wounds around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Subsequently, two more individuals were discovered in the parking garage, one of whom had sustained at least one stab wound. Police have detained a female juvenile in connection with the incident, but no charges have been filed as of yet. Authorities believe that all five individuals involved in the altercation are acquainted with each other, and the situation escalated when a handgun was produced.
It remains unclear whether the group was at the airport for travel purposes or for another reason. The gunfire prompted a temporary closure of Terminal 4's security checkpoint, but the airport has since confirmed that the incident has been resolved, and operations are returning to normal. Officials have assured that there are no active threats at the airport, and flight schedules remain unaffected as detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting and stabbing.
