Several people were injured in a disturbing acid attack that took place in a cafe in the west German city of Bochum. The incident occurred when a man entered the cafe at approximately 3:25 p.m. and proceeded to pour an acidic liquid over a guest who was seated at a table in the outdoor area. This malicious act resulted in the victim sustaining serious injuries, as confirmed by local police in a press release.
Unfortunately, the repercussions of the attack extended beyond the initial victim. A woman who was also seated at the table with the victim, as well as a waitress, suffered injuries as well. Furthermore, during the ensuing operation, four police officers and two firefighters who came into contact with the harmful liquid also sustained injuries.
Following the attack, the perpetrator attempted to flee the scene but was swiftly apprehended in the vicinity by law enforcement. At present, the motive behind this heinous act remains unclear, and authorities have launched an investigation to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the incident.
