Following an investigation into the death of Matthew Perry, multiple arrests have been made, as reported by TMZ. Law enforcement sources revealed that at least one doctor and several dealers involved in arranging and delivering ketamine to the late actor have been taken into custody. The LAPD, DEA, and US Postal Service executed search warrants, leading to the seizure of electronic equipment to determine the source of the illegally obtained ketamine that caused Perry to lose consciousness and drown in his hot tub last October.
Text messages obtained from the warrant indicated discussions about Perry's ketamine needs, the arrangements made to acquire it, and the prices he was willing to pay. Last month, it was revealed that Perry's death could expose a dark side of Hollywood drug dealing, with potential charges against multiple individuals involved in drug rings using mail fraud to distribute prescription medication.
Perry, who was 54 at the time of his death, passed away on October 28 due to the acute effects of ketamine. The autopsy report also cited drowning, coronary artery disease, and the effects of buprenorphine as contributing factors to his death, with the manner listed as accidental.
Despite being clean from drugs for 19 months, Perry was undergoing ketamine infusion therapy at the time of his passing. The therapy is commonly used to treat various conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, chronic pain, and substance abuse issues.
In a past interview, Perry disclosed that his fear of dying had motivated him to get sober, stating, 'I didn’t get sober because I felt like it. I got sober because I was worried I was going to die the next day.'
