Police received multiple calls from concerned motorists who witnessed a car "dangerously" towing a van perched precariously on a trailer on the M5.
The Central Motorway Policing Group (CMPG) went searching for the vehicle and trailer after receiving a number of frantic calls from concerned passengers over the potential for an accident on the motorway.
Birmingham Live reports that CMPG warned for the driver for allegedly "using a vehicle in a dangerous position". CMPG said the steering and braking of the trailer were "severely inhibited" by the van.
On Twitter, CMPG stated: "Steering and trailer braking severely inhibited by the load. Vehicle prohibited. Driver reported for using a vehicle in a dangerous condition."
A spokesman added: "The van had ended up in that position during loading and was secured in that position using straps to the rear wheels and across the inside of the cab. It wasn't insecure, but was causing the vehicle to be in a dangerous condition due to impairment of the steering and braking."
