Much-loved Glasgow restaurant El Jefes opens southside location with colourful mural

A vibrant Glasgow restaurant and bar known for its exciting Mexican food has just opened a second site in the southside.

El Jefe, which also has a popular spot in Finnieston and is known for its Mexican twist on a Sunday roast, has announced the opening of its sit-in restaurant in Giffnock.

They've taken up residence in the former BRGR unit on Fenwick Road, with the Tequila Taqueria now open for sit-ins and have created an exciting mural on their external wall to celebrate the opening.

The new opening will follow their current restaurant on Argyle Street, where they moved to from Great Western Road earlier this year.

Southsiders will be delighted to get the chance to tuck into their now legendary Mexican Sunday Roasts this weekend, which feature cuts of meat including lamb, Mexican chicken and Chateaubriand paired alongside a mouth-watering range of sides including cheesy cream corn, queso Chipotle cauliflower, homemade nachos and of course, huge Yorkshire puddings - which the team recommends using to make tacos with.

They'll also be able to enjoy the likes of tacos, quesadillas, nachos and churros, as well an extensive collection of margaritas and tequila shots and chasers.

The EJ team posted that the new restaurant and bar will be open 12 pm until late, 7 days a week, with the kitchen closing at 9.
