A much-loved BBC Quiz show is returning to the air in a matter of weeks with the host revealing a series of changes.
Only Connect is due to make a small screen return, with presenter Victoria Mitchell, 50, confirming the news via social media.
The quiz show has been a fan favourite since gracing our screens in 2008 and has gone on to have 18 successful series.
Now it looks like fans don't have much longer to wait for a new series as it's set to return in just a matter of weeks.
Victoria, who has been presenter since 2008, took to Twitter to say: "*drumroll* Only Connect will be coming back to BBC Two on Monday July 17th!
"Earlier than usual this year. It's a very jolly new series; hope you enjoy it," she added.
Fans replied saying how excited they are for the new season with one saying: "Best news I’ve heard since last Autumn’s series graced our screens."
A second simply said: "Huzzah!," with another adding: "Yay my withdrawal symptoms will be cured."
Some commented on the fact Only Connect is going to air at a slightly different time of year this time. The last series started in August 2022 while others before this began in September and October time.
One fan noted: "Can't believe autumn is starting in July, we have truly been blessed."
Another commented: "Watching Only Connect while the sun’s still out is going to be very weird."
Only Connect seems teams go head to head in a challenge of finding connections between seemingly unrelated clues.
Questions on the show can cover any topic, with many needing niche knowledge of a certain subject while others are based on popular culture.
Contestants are presented with the clues and then have to work out the type of connection between them whether this is thematic, linguistic, factual or mathematical.
Host Victoria found fame as a British writer, TV presenter and professional poker player.
She is also known for being married to actor and comedian David Mitchell.
The pair got engaged in 2012 after meeting at a film premiere in 2007. The couple married in November 2012 and their daughter was born in May 2015.
