Michigan State women’s soccer earned a 2-2 tie on Sunday afternoon in a top 15 matchup against Xavier.
The game was scoreless deep into the second half before all the scoring took place. Xavier took the initial lead in the 64th minute, but Michigan State responded with back-to-back goals in a three-minute span. Xavier would, however, get a late penalty kick goal in the final minute to tie the match.
Michigan State moves to 3-0-2 on the season following the draw. The Spartans are currently ranked No. 4 nationally and should remain in the top 10 in next week’s updated rankings.
The Spartans will return to the pitch on Thursday in a home game again Queens.
