A Michigan State targetted big-time running back in the 2026 class has announced his college decision. And unfortunately, it was not in the Spartans’ favor.
Four-star running back Shahn Alston of Painesville, Ohio announced his commitment to USC on Saturday. Alston picked the Trojans over his three other finalists of Michigan State, Penn State and Wisconsin.
Alston ranks as the No. 14 running back and No. 153 overall prospect in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2026 class. He is also listed as the No. 8 player from Ohio in the class.
USC will now need to keep Alston committed for the next 11 months, so don’t be surprised if Michigan State continues to recruit him. There is still plenty of time for a flip in this recruitment.
