Michigan State’s Payton Thorne is considered one of the nation’s top 25 quarterbacks entering the 2022 season.
Brad Crawford of 247Sports has released a top 25 rankings of the nation’s quarterbacks, which included the Spartans’ signal caller. Thorne came in at No. 25 in the rankings — which in my opinion seemed a little low.
Here’s what Crawford had to say about Thorne:
“Thorne’s production this season is extremely vital to Michigan State’s success, perhaps more than any other quarterback anchoring a league squad inside the top 25, after the Spartans lost Doak Walker winner Kenneth Walker III out of the backfield.”
Thorne came in as the fourth-highest quarterback from the Big Ten in these rankings. He was listed behind only Ohio State’s CJ Stroud (No. 2), Purdue’s Aidan O’Connell (No. 16) and Maryland’s Taulia Tagovailoa (No. 21).
