MSU Hockey moves up in latest USCHO.com rankings

Michigan State hockey moved closer to the top spot in this week’s updated USCHO.com rankings.

The Spartans moved up one spot to No. 3 in this week’s updated USCHO.com national rankings for Division I men’s hockey. Michigan State started the year at No. 4 and hasn’t moved off that spot until this week.

Michigan State picked up a road two-game series sweep of Canisius this past weekend. The Spartans are now 5-1 overall, with the lone loss coming to No. 2 Boston College.

Six teams from the Big Ten were included in the rankings this week. Behind the Spartans was Minnesota at No. 4, Michigan at No. 11, Ohio State at No. 15, Penn State at No. 18 and Notre Dame at No. 19.
