Michigan State football is reportedly showing “significant interest” in a quarterback prospect that has recently reopened his recruitment.
Pete Thamel of ESPN is reporting that Michigan State is one of a few schools that have shown “significant interest” in four-star quarterback Brady Smigiel since he decommitted from Florida State last week. Smigiel has also reportedly received notable interest from Michigan, Ohio State, South Carolina, Washington and UCLA.
Smigiel hails from Newbury Park, Calif. and is ranked as the No. 5 quarterback in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2026 class. He is also ranked as the No. 62 overall prospect in the class.
Michigan State is one of more than 30 schools to offer Smigiel, according to 247Sports. He also has notable offers from Arizona State, Auburn, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Miami (FL), Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, South Carolina, UCLA, Virginia Tech and Washington.
