The Preseason Athletic 134 dropped on Monday, and it has some teams ahead of the Spartans that are simply head-scratching.
Would you consider Toledo, Miami (OH), UNLV or Texas State to be better than Michigan State in 2024? Well, Chris Vannini of The Athletic thinks so. At least for now.
Vannini released his The Preseason Athletic 134 on Monday, and the Spartans came in at No. 70 nationally. That is No. 14 out of 18 teams in the Big Ten — which isn’t surprising compared to other preseason rankings. But the number of smaller programs such as Toledo or UNLV being ahead of the Spartans was surprising (at least to me).
